Programmatic themes

Welcome! This section brings together the five themes that shaped my M.Ed. journey in Instructional Design and Development, namely Foundations, Analysis, Design & Development, Evaluation, and Management. Each theme captures a piece of who I am as an educator, designer, and a lifelong learner.

I come to instructional design as an applied mathematician and teacher in higher education, where I’ve spent years helping students rediscover confidence in learning. Over time, my fascination with how people think and engage led me toward designing learning experiences that are inclusive, data-informed, and deeply human.

Being a mother of two has shaped my sense of balance, empathy, and adaptability, the same qualities that guide how I plan projects, collaborate with others, and design for diverse learners. Teaching continues to ground me in the realities of higher education, while design gives me a creative space where logic meets imagination.

Along the way, I’ve expanded my skills through LinkedIn Learning certifications in Articulate Storyline Essential Training, D2L Brightspace for Educators, Foundations of Learning Experience Design, Design Thinking, Canva Visual Design, and AI in Education. Each new tool and perspective has enriched how I think about designing for real people in real contexts.

Every theme in the dropdown tells a part of this story, from analyzing needs and managing complex projects to creating joyful, meaningful learning experiences. Together, they reflect the blend of structure, creativity, and heart that defines my work as an instructional designer.
